Jake Guentzel is a professional American ice hockey player. He is a potential prospect who currently plays for the National Hockey League Pittsburg Penguins. Penguins drew him into the 2013 NHL entry draft in the third round of 77 overall. For Pittsburg penguins, he also won the Stanly Cup in 2017.
He was born on October 6, 1994, in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Jake was familiar with hockey since childhood. His father, Mike Guentzel was also a hockey player and a promising sportsperson of Greenway High School in Coleraine, Minnesota.
After leaving Greenway high school, he later played for Golden Gophers, Minnesota. Jake's father Mike also got selected as a coach at Minnesota University where he spends many years as a coach.
Jack was so young when future Penguin's best player Phil Kessel was playing for Minnesota. His elder brother, Ryan, was also a professional hockey player. Another brother, Gabe, was played in the North American Hockey League and the U.S. Hockey League as well.
